Pop-Up-Choir

The Pop-Up Christmas choir is an informal gathering of mixed-level singers who lead the singing at this lovely annual event in Crouch End.

We stand on the stage in our festive hats and sing melodies, harmonies and descants to the traditional carols. Our role is to encourage the crowd to join in and sing along.

(We don't all necessarily sing the same harmonies and descants as each other - but gusto and enthusiasm are encouraged!)

We also sing one or two songs on our own. The choice of songs depends on what singers we have in the choir, so it is preferable to attend at least one of the rehearsals - unless you already know them or sight read well.

Last year we sand "Carol of the Bells" and an arrangement of "White Christmas", in in 4 part harmony.

We also learned the "Cornish" version (Lyngham) of "While Shepherds Watched" to satisfy Heather's homesickness.

There are 3 rehearsal dates scheduled, so please contact Heather if you would like to attend or if you would like more information.
